Some days I have the motivation to make a 5 course meal, and other days I barely feel like picking up the phone to order pizza. On days where cooking anything seems far fetched, this is the recipe to remember.
Pulled chicken is so easy to make in the slow cooker. Only 6 ingredients make up this effortless meal that will spare you from ordering overpriced delivery. Everything just goes into the slow cooker without any special prep. Hours later, it’s fall-apart tender, juicy and delicious. Add some coleslaw and sweet potatoes fries on the side, and BOOM that’s dinner!
This is a great way to make meat for company or your family when you don’t have time to stand over the stove. You can throw everything in your slow cooker before your day and it’s ready when you come home. Such a treat! This recipe makes enough to feed four plus have leftovers the next day. If you’re feeding a large group, double up the recipe.
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1/2 onion, diced
One 18 ounce bottle barbecue sauce (I use Sweet Baby Ray’s honey barbeque)
1/2 cup italian dressing
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Sandwich buns for serving
Place chicken in a slow cooker.
Add diced onion, barbeque sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar & Worcestershire.
Mix to combine.
Cook on 6-8 hours on low or 3-4 hours on high.
Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred using two forks.
Return the chicken to the slow cooker to coat with sauce and serve on sandwich buns.
Top with coleslaw or serve on side with sweet potato fries.
